The Beginnings of Greyfriars Logic
|
In 2011, the Bridge Tutorials began as a once-a-week tutorial for 7th and 8th graders, growing out of two informal family co-ops. Then in 2013, the Bridge expanded to include 6th grade.
Our program offers History (including Geography and Church History), Literature and Aesthetics, Writing (Grammar and Diagramming), Latin, Math, and Science classes--all taught from a Christian worldview. Each class has a weekly syllabus that shows what is covered in class and what should be done at home. To better follow the classical model, we are set up so that all Logic students study the same time period in History and Literature with Aesthetics being integrated into this time period. From inception, our program has had informal ties to Greyfriars Classical Academy (GCA), both in personnel and in vision. In the 2015-16 school year, Bridge Tutorials more formally linked arms with GCA and with our "sister" organization, 7Pillars Tutorials (K-5), to become Greyfriars Classical Tutorials. We trust that this change will better enable us to assist Christian homeschooling families. |
